Sandy Laurenson

Clinical Psychologist, MPsych

Registered clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting adults through anxiety, OCD, trauma and emotion dysregulation.

About Sandy

Sandy is a registered clinical psychologist who has been in practice since 2014. She works with adults (16+) who are navigating anxiety, obsessive-compulsive difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and the long shadows of trauma.

Her approach is warm, practical, and grounded in evidence. Clients often describe feeling quickly at ease — which matters, because the hardest step in therapy is often simply turning up. Sandy's work centres on giving you the tools to understand what you're experiencing, and the confidence to keep using them outside the session.

Therapeutic approach

Sandy draws from a range of evidence-based therapies and tailors each piece of work to the person in front of her. For anxiety and OCD she most often uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). For trauma she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). For emotion dysregulation she draws on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy.

Underneath the techniques is a simple commitment: to meet you where you are, to work on what matters to you, and to help you build a life that feels more like your own.
